Jennie Hamilton was a 2003 graduate of Purdue University, Calumet who devoted her all-too-brief life to health and fitness. Jennie had a passion for endurance events and was always searching for tough races to test her abilities. At the time of her death, in the summer of 2006, she was training for the Ironman Triathlon (swim 2.4 miles, bike 112.5 miles, run 26.2 miles) and considering returning to school in the nursing program to further her ability to reach out to others and provide assistance for their health needs.

This race is to honor her memory and continue the legacy she began of health, fitness and education. Part of the proceeds from the race will go towards the Jennie Hamilton Scholarship Fund.

All runners/walkers will receive a water bottle.

See if you can find Bigfoot as he or she roams the course. If you get a picture or video of Bigfoot with your phone show it to us at the end of the race. You will then be enter in a special raffle for a chance to win prizes.

The course will be 2 loops around this beautiful park. I have rented an indoor facility near the start/finish area where check-in, bathrooms, post-race snacks and award ceremony will be held.

Come experience the beautiful Tryon Farm in Michigan City, Indiana by running the 8 miler or 25k or the 50k. This course will be a 4 mile loop that will done 2 times for 8 miler, 4 times for 25k and finally 8 times for 50k. 50k will be begin at 8:00 am Central Time and 8 miler and 25k start at 9:00 am.

Part of proceeds benefit the Tryon Farm Institute, Inc. (TFI) an Indiana chartered non-profit land trust and education membership organization with a mission to connect human and natural communities by promoting habitat diversity and sustainable land husbandry. TFI maintains the agricultural heritage of Tryon Farm through an active partnership with a neighboring sustainable small-herd dairy farm. All runners will be receive a long sleeve cotton t-shirt. 8 miler and 25k runners will receive a finisher medal. 50k runners will receive a buckle. All runners 21 years and older will receive one free beer from Zorn Brewery in Michigan City. Additional beers will be available for purchase. We will have aid station at the start/finish line with a various food items and another aid station near the second mile to get you through your journey whichever distance you choose.

In honor of National Feral Cat Day supporters from around the world are advocating for the lives of cats and educating their communities about humane policies, like Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), that help save cats’ lives and protect all cats in all communities. The Crazy Legs Race Series is proud to host the Black Cat Night Trail Run 5k. Part of the proceeds will be donated to Feline Community Network in Hobart, IN.
